A lot of people seem to have the misconception that it's transmales being lesboys, and that's just simply not true. There's a difference between transmasc and transmale, and transmasc is under the nonbinary umbrella, and those who are transmasc typically identify with pronouns other than only he/him. You CAN be transmasc and a lesboy, due to the definition of lesbian being non man loving non man. A transmasc typically isn't a man.

ty for giving me an excuse to rant about this i'll yap now 1. "it's their identity why should we care?" it isn't a matter of policing your identity, it's defining your sexual orientation for OTHERS' sake. yes, it's a good thing to know who you are, but that's not why labels exist. labels exist for others to interpret. you already know your identity on the inside. why should a label's meaning bend for your sake? a label is a way of conveying information to others with minimal words. if the label is contradictory to who you claim to be then it's just confusing. someone can call themselves a male lesbian but if they have to elaborate on what the label entails it defeats the entire point of a label. at that point just say you're into women and you're a dude. it's not that deep. don't choose a label that misrepresents who you are because if someone sees it at face value they'll immediately be confused, again, DEFEATING THE ENTIRE PURPOSE OF A LABEL. consider yourself a lesbian on the inside but don't go around telling people that. 2. trans males/trans men vs. transmascs people constantly confuse trans men with transmascs and it pmo. as a transmasc (demiboy) myself, NO i am not fully a man. if someone says they are a trans man (or a man at all for that matter) they are claiming they are fully male on the gender spectrum. a transMASC person can identify as a lesbian because transmascs aren't fully men. the definition of a lesbian is a non-man who experiences attraction to non-men. by definition, a nonbinary person can identify as a lesbian because a nonbinary person is not male. since transmascs aren't fully male, then yes, they can technicaly be lesbians. it depends mostly on where on the gender spectrum they fall, though, which is up to the individual's interpretation. i'm a transmasc but i only feel partially non-man, so even though i only experience attraction to women, i consider myself heterosexual. TLDR: don't change a word's meaning to mean whatever you want it to mean because it defeats the whole purpose of a word and transmascs ≠ trans men, so a transmasc can be a lesbian but a trans man cannot. the definition of a lesbian is a non-man attracted to non-men.

This. It feels like NO one knows the difference between transmales and transmascs these days and it pmo so badly. Like yes, a transmasc can be lesbian. No, that grace does NOT extend to TRANS MEN!!!!! FFS PEOPLE!!!

honestly at this point we have bigger issues then who identifies as a lesbian. let the people be what they wanna be, were all gonna die eventually. does it really matter how someone lives their life
