I don’t want to be hated but I feel like it wasn’t a good or bad album. I feel like they tried to do too much in this album. With exploring their different taste in music after doing solo acts. Where we got to see how vast their music taste is. It didn’t show the history or Korea and their culture. While I like some songs I don’t love every song. Which is okay. I love BTS but I don’t have to love everything they do. It felt jumbled with too many hands in the pie and not a clear focus like other albums and concepts. The visuals, merch, and story is saying one thing but the songs are saying another. I also think since they are more global they are trying to cater worldwide rather than just fans. It’s a lot. I hope this makes sense to people.

I agree! I was expecting IDOL vibes and was really excited to see them go back to their roots but sadly I felt nothing listening to the album. As an ARMY of 10 years its really quite disappointing 😞

What helps is just listening to artists’ music and albums objectively and not deciding what you want the art to be. B/c at the end of the day music is art expression and that’s how they were feeling and enjoyed when they made it. You don’t have to enjoy it but it’s their art, their creation, it can be whatever they want.

i absolutely love the album but i felt like the promotion was a bit misleading. Maybe I'll have to wait and see but.. i do love the music and WILL be streaming! 😁

Personally, I didn't like the entire album and yes I like the hip-hop genre. I have been listening to BTS since 2013 and I understand that there is gonna be change and growth to their music style. I think after Dynamite and Butter blew up into the Western market, kpop has somewhat shifted to appeal to that area. There are more English lyrics incorporated into songs now.

yes. expectations. OUR expectations ruin OUR mood. so people are guilty themselves tho. they disappointed themselves. BTS cannot disappoint, because disappointed can be only one who expected. and people want to expect too much all the time. to be perfection. but the best part in perfection is imperfection. those who can see the beauty deeper, can see reality, just how it is. they are walking their own path and they shouldn't be relying on us. they need to rely on themselves, their emotions, their passion. THEIRS! they NEED to listen to themselves and it should not be negotionable who they listen to and if you don't like it, it's on you. that does not tell anything about them. how YOU feel, it's only on YOU 😉 just sayin'

i was expecting kpop vibes, like RUN, MICDROP etc. esp the album s named arirang.i think there songs were more western influenced?! i think they rushed this album or overhyped. nevertheless i love bts. BUT their old songs sound much better.

I wonder why people come so fast to conclusion??! As a non-Korean Army, Im enjoying much the album Arirang. Art isn’t meant to be obvious or handed to you right away. It asks for observation, reflection and curiosity. Arirang embodies all of that. BTS members growth and identity as Korean men are deeply felt throughout… Thanks to the album Im curious, Im searching, reading about Korean history, traditional music, clothes and even that 29th National treasure (Sacred Bell of King Seongdeok) etc so for me this is the point of „Arirang”.
