If they don’t want to give them away without purchase that’s fine but they should at least offer for a cost. Free with purchase or $2 without. Something like that.

ALSO: if they would’ve just told me it now cost money for a pup cup. I would’ve just bought it! . That’s no problem. I just wasn’t going to buy a drink and waste it to get the free pup cup.

ive never gone to Starbucks just for a pup cup, so i never knew they did just that. I would feel awkward ordering one without anything else, but thats just me

I work at McDonald’s and we no longer do free waters without a purchase which is dumb, i just suggest to customers to order a bag of apple slices because they’re only like 50 cents

It might be just that one cause I looked it up Starbucks "pup cups" (or Puppuccinos) are still available for dogs as a FREE, unlisted menu item consisting of whipped cream, according to recent executive statements and social media.

As a starbys barista, Starbucks started a policy in January 2025, saying in order to stay in the lobby, use the bathroom, and get water you need to make a purchase. A lot of stores don’t follow it but it was a policy made 😔

If you have a Chick-fil-A near you, they do pup cups. So does Dairy Queen. We've always purchased something with it.

The change happened a long time ago, at least with the free water. I’ve never heard it with pup cups, but tbh I didn’t know SB ever did pup cups. Do you have a dutch bros nearby??? They do pup cups 🥰

From a person in the food industry. With all do respect, nothing in the buillding is free, the cup and whipped cream in a pup cup, the water or the ice or the cup and straw they don’t charge for, the million napkins everyone asks for etc. The list is endless and unfortunately, but understandably, everyone thinks, “it’s just me how much could it possibly cost them?” Times that by a hundred everyday.
