@adam_unhinged: This absolutely blew my mind whenever I heard about it so I wanted to tell all of my veteran friends. Now go forth and conquer! #militaryveteran #gibill #goingbacktoschool #benefits #worthit
This is inherently not true, because you won’t get paid while you are not in school (June-August)

Some colleges do not allow this. Golden gate university in SF does for a lot of states, not arkansas. Their BAH is 5k. CIAT in San Diego requires you to show up for your final exam and that's it, I'm starting that in June

My GI ran out. Now I have debt 😭I tried VRE … idk… I’m all jacked up I guess bc Ohio doesn’t have it. The Gi doesn’t give enough for a bachelors

This is gate kept. The VA rules changed during COVID allowing you to attend only 1 day in class to receive full bah. There are plenty of schools that offer hybrid programs that only require less than 5 days of attendance per term. GGU is one of the schools in SF that allows this. BAH is 5100 plus fafsa….. depending on your degree, level of degree, VA rating, you could possibly touch 150k a year untaxed.

I just did some research after looking at this and GGU out of Cali has a whole page dedicated to making this process easy and understandable for veterans. They make money from it and you make money from it

VRE is a must first. get your 10%, get approved for VRE for your BA. Then GI bill for higher ed.

If you use VR&E and then GI Bill, you can do this for 7 years

This is lowkey bad advice. Chasing high BAH figures in a place you won’t even live is borderline fraud - besides that, going to the best school you can get into is going to be far higher return than the short term gain of pocketing high BAH.

A hybrid student requires at least one class that meets. You’d need to fly in at least once a week. Full time online only is also a great idea, but doesn’t pay the full rate

The catch is you must pass your classes. Make sure you choose easy things to accomplish unless you actually value the education. For me, there is virtually nothing I want to do with it as the best education always came from the private sector.

It's a $180k max.
The GI BILL pays for 36 months of education, so money in the summer.
So it's actually $45k a year if you're doing full time.

They extended it up to 48 months now if you’ve served two qualifying active duty terms

I used to work as an SCO/ Veteran Services. This is true. The VA knows about it and no it’s not considered fraud. The only problem you could run into is hitting the yearly cap on what your GI bill will pay if you plan to attend through summer

I’m in Texas and I was told that my kids can only go to a school in Texas for the VA to pay for their college….

You don’t have to fly out there. Just take atleast one class that is labeled hybrid where you can watch the lecture live remotely or go in person

Gi Bill only covers 36 months not a full bachelors so you can’t extend it past 36 months so definitely don’t dial down your class load dial down your work load

How are you considered a in person student when you only attend in person one day a semester. Just wait until they audit you.

The math is slightly off because you did it for 4 years total (48 months), but you only get 36 months of GI bill benefits(9 months per year for 4 years because you don’t get it during summer).

On the VA page. That’s what I did and because I was a Hybrid the bAH was cut down in half
