We come before You today with humility and deep reverence. We acknowledge the divine spark that exists within each and every one of us, passed down through generations of Ndi Igbo. We honour Chukwu, the Great Spirit, who is the beginning and the end, the father of all the divine forces (Chi) that guide our lives. Today, we stand as one global people. We cross the artificial boundaries of distance and geography. We connect our energies from the soil of Igboland to the lands of the Diaspora. We merge our spirits under one sky, one Sun, and one Earth. We are Ndigbo Uwa Nile! We call upon our Nde Nna n’Nne ochie (Ancestors), the ancient ones, the wise ones who walked this Earth before us, who preserved our culture, our language, and our traditions through trials and tribulations. We thank you for your resilience, your sacrifices, and for paving the way. We ask for forgiveness if we have forgotten our roots, abandoned the ways of our fathers, or let the world’s noise drown out the whispers of our Chi.
