@humankind: When firefighters responded to an apartment fire in Jurupa Valley, California, they went in searching for people ... but found four cats instead. Three of them weren’t breathing. Working quickly, the firefighters rushed the cats outside and began emergency rescue efforts, using oxygen to try to revive them. For several tense minutes, they didn’t give up. Then, one by one, the cats began to come back. Because of their persistence, all four cats survived. #usatodaypets #animalrescue #catsoftiktok

Firefighters resuscitated my son Roberts' two year old ridgeback Demon ,from smoke inhalation. The rest of his long life , if the smoke alarm went off, he would run out the dog door my son built. I haven't thought about this in a long time. At one point we had 7 dogs and Demon literally trained all of them to get out! 😳
