I agree with your statement, however I do not believe that most people are buying and selling the next day. They are buying and selling a lot later and gold is only going to go up (in the long term). I am fairly certain that the 18k is going to go up more than the 10k. Then again if you're buying for investment you would probably go with bullion.

You need to calculate it as a percentage though. Yes you’re losing double with 18k but that’s because you’re paying double up front. The loss is the same, you’re just playing a bigger ball game.

People with money buy closer to pure. Value of gold (historically) has only gone up. In the scale of 1 ring you may have half a point, but when you collect,pass things down, or resell down the line you’re not holding value well at all. 1 ring for 1 person who doesn’t have a lot to spend sure
