@melonyeatschicago: Was stubborn about the hearing aids but living life for almost a year with single sided deafness was harder than expected. Finally embracing the idea of hearing aids. 🦻🏻#hearingaids #braintumor #brainsurgery #deaf #fyp

I got mine in my 30’s, made such a difference but I felt very conscious everyone was looking at me but soon I forgot they were even there. I felt overwhelmed with all the new sounds at the beginning. Can’t wait to get a pair that don’t use batteries, have to carry them everywhere with me.

idk how late i am but as someone who has been wearing hearing aids since i was 5 here are some tips: clean them out every day, they should give you a lil tool but you might need something longer sometimes in which using a needle is good! also expect your ear to get very itchy as it is getting used to the hearing aid, putting some vaseline on the mold helps with the itchiness as it puts a barrier between the mould and your ear. also when you go out always keep some batteries with you (unless you've gotten rechargable ones) cuz you never know when they'll run low. also idk if its an option where you are but there are bluetooth hearing aids! mine are bluetooth and they're awesome
