Yeah no. Not worth the liquor license and not worth my personal freedom. If I over serve someone and they end up in the hospital, drive somewhere and hot someone, or end up dead in a ditch that is my ass on the line. I do not get paid enough for that bullshit. I was serving a wedding and told the bride I had to cut her mom off. The bride was clearly worried about her mom having a blow up said "You cannot tell her that." I looked at her and said "I have to cut her off, she is not drinking anymore, but I can make all her drinks virgin and see if she buys it. At this point I don't think she'd know the difference." Bride told me to try it, I told my boss and other bartender who each witnessed me making all her drinks for the rest of the night. Mom was getting LIT of Shirley Temples and shot glasses of lemon juice for the rest of the night. 🤣🤣🤣

It’s always hilarious when people really do not understand how credit card disputes work. You can dispute it and then the company investigates which typically includes contacting the merchant. Sooo good luck with disputing.

my rsa (responsible service of alcohol im from aus haha) isnt worth risking for anyone. I have to abide by rsa otherwise I can get fined so can the manager/supervisors and so can the actual business. it could cost the business their liquor licence

Yeah customer is wrong. Unless the customer is going to pay for the reinstatement of the restaurants liquor license, and fines/fees included with that then not a chance.

We had a private event where I work. The people arrived on a party bus, bringing their very large coolers full of liquor with them. I literally spent 3 hours sitting next to the coolers in our banquet room after letting the guests know that outside liquor was not allowed to be consumed during the event. Several guests got cut off that night.

I know it's not what happened here.. but... if someone hasn't drank enough to explain the level of intoxication, actually sometimes it can be a medical emergency not related to the alcohol. Unfortunately some people have died from others thinking they were just drunk and not seeking help. Yeah, you shouldn't keep giving them more alcohol in that case either, but hopefully someone would be keeping their eye on that person.

in Australia its called a RSA cert, Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate. you must have one to deal with alcohol in any hospitality capacity
