@lfcarchives1892: Fernando Torres | 2010–11 Season 🎯 A difficult and challenging end to what had been an electrifying spell for Fernando Torres with The Reds. After the World Cup, injuries and a loss of form meant he couldn’t quite reach the devastating heights we had become so used to, and for the first time, things just didn’t feel the same. But even in a challenging season, Torres still gave us flashes of that brilliance – most notably his unforgettable brace against Chelsea in November, a reminder of just how special he was on his day. By January, it was over. A record-breaking £50 million move to Chelsea brought his time at Anfield to a close, ending an era that had given us 81 goals in 142 appearances. It wasn’t the ending we wanted, but it doesn’t change what came before – the pace, the precision, the feeling every time he ran through on goal. El Niño left Anfield as a true icon, and for a time, one of the most feared strikers in world football. #lfc #liverpool #liverpoolfc #torres #football
