This is horrible advice. The person wasn’t being aggressive at all.

I just don’t believe half of these are real. Since when does a recruitment process happen over whatsapp and not email?

As a former recruiter, now CEO, it is a turn off when someone only asks what in it for them in the beginning. I’m looking to hire a leader to grow that division. Demonstrate how you can solve the problem. Not asking what’s in it

I mean, they saved him an unpleasant experience. I would not wanna work for a company that thinks people are working there for pure enjoyment. These companies are dillusional and usually don’t treat their employees well. However I would not have started an argument, I would have just accepted they wanted a workaholic who doesn’t care about work conditions and thanked them for the opportunity.

With respect, is your advice not completely contradictory? You say not to basically ask the questions he asked, but then say don’t work for a company that behaves like that. How is somebody going to be able to ascertain that the company is to be avoided, if you shouldn’t ask these types of questions in the first place?

we just don't care about the job and it's stupid that we have to play pretend. no one dreams of working for a corporate office. we just have bills to pay

What do they think peoples motivation for working is? Do they work for HR because they're super interested in the company. No of course not. Everyone's there for $$$ and conditions

I feel like “cultural fit” was incredibly poor choice of words. “Ambitions and communication styles” would seem to be more fitting for the response in my opinion

Companies like that don’t want you to know about the specifics, they want to be able to take advantage of you. They have no interest in you if you do.

Nothing wrong with how the company acted here - they were giving him honest feedback and were referring to the overall impression he gave. He does not come across well.

As much as it’s an interview for the company it’s an interview for the candidate. Asking questions about work culture and expectations is very normal.

These companies need to understand people applying for a job are doing so because they need money. They provide a service for the company and the company pays them money. It’s all about money so when they ask you, why do you want to work for us? the answer is always money.

I would not have employed a person who focused heavily on conditions and did not seem enthusiastic about the company or the work. Daniel got great feedback from this recruiter. Hope he learns from it.

I think this is the first video where you were in the wrong you specifically him asking about specifics shouldn't make him look less enthusiastic and the way he handled himself is very human I would not want to be hired from this company so I would start speaking less professional but he still was not rude or aggressive
