Not being a creative genius is a freeing truth NOT a harsh reality! If I was supposed to be a creative genius I’d never experiment or get shit done

Hiiii that’s me! Just wanted to say thank you because I love talking about this topic. I love thinking about how best to support young artists (especially aspiring art directors) I do so a lot on my page. I had a very unique (to say the least) career path and because of that, I do have a different take on how I wish I was treated as a creative. And with that I lead differently. Appreciate the note on cultural differences and the kindness about my illustration work.💕 Ultimately I’m doing the same thing as you. I think the collaboration aspect is very overlooked, particularly in today’s day and age and particularly for ambitious projects. Anything big takes multiple people, don’t matter the industry. I currently work at Amazon and I couldn’t do my job without my team much less the operation running without a team. I’ve been taking that mindset into how I create art and build my business and it’s been important to how I move forward. We all need to be there for each other as a team and try not to do everything yourself

Shawty just didn’t understand your video, it made perfect sense. A lot of green artists don’t realize how they come across and your video wasn’t discouraging, it was sobering and realistic. I personally find your content very helpful as an emerging artist.

The people that choose to live as a “pained artist” in a commercial art space will be eaten up and spit out by the stakeholders that truly see it as a business, and even worse, taken advantage of. Focus on making excellent work, be strong willed, but understand the brand or agency you are working with will continue to turn with your absence and acuities.
