Thank you for this thoughtful response. I wish people, especially in the medical community, when confronted with a situation where there is a backlash like this, would first listen and try to learn why it was hurtful. Listen to women’s life experiences with misogyny in medicine. Learn from it. You still may not agree or even understand, but please acknowledge our reality. Ty.

Thank you. I've seen a lot of people say he should have consquences, but you are the first to give your opinion on what that might look like.

He KNEW he was a representation of the medical community and even the Mayo Clinic. They PREACH that to med students constantly! They even say if you are off work and have to run to the store for food but you are still in your scrubs, you are still a representative of the medical community. There was NO misinterpreting that. He made a bad choice by posting those videos but at the same time, he should have stopped and thought “Is this a good idea?” before posting them. Especially when the content pertained to patients!

With that mindset, would you be okay with medical students cheating on exams? Or should they not be acting within the standards and guidelines of a medical professional?

I guess if he made videos mocking patients of different ethnicities that would be the same to you? And if he doubled down after the backlash you would still be sympathetic? OR is it only excusable when he’s mocking female patients?
