I prefer to use the phrase phonic tics instead of vocal tics. Because not every “vocal” tic uses the vocal cords but they are phonic.. if that makes sense. Some research I’ve read intentionally use phonic for this reason. (It’s also an affirming phrase for me because most of my vocal tics don’t actually use the vocal cords)

I don’t know if this is a tic (I’ve ever been diagnosed, let me know if I’m just wrong) - when I get very stressed I can uncontrollably yell & smack myself in the head. (I have been told that I am crazy and this was not tics because I don’t tic everyday, just when I’m very VERY stressed.)
