Both men and women can be abusers. Both men and women can be victims. And both can perpetrate reactive abuse. Reactive abuse is a reaction to being abused. Does it make it right? No. But we have to be able to acknowledge that reactive abuse is a separate thing. I haven’t seen anyone condoning her behavior tho. She can be wrong and it can be reactive to his abuse at the same time. DV is often not that black and white and many can’t truly understand it unless they’ve lived it.

I think the problem w everyone sharing their opinion on this is most of you don’t have actual experience with abuse. I can say for certain in the house I grew up in was so abusive that my mom changed into a totally different person. Got a new husband and he abuses her too but will not leave her alone until she throws something at him or locks herself away and even then he busts the door down. She went from someone who got hit into someone who now hits bc it gets the guy away from her. This is not a black and white situation there is so much nuance. And you literally cannot understand it unless you see it with your own eyes.
