@alqastalli: 🚨 Read the explanation of the composition of a Moroccan from Doukkala 🇲🇦 : - Anatolian Farmer 👨🏽‍🌾 It originates from Anatolian farmer ancestry, introduced during the Neolithic expansion into North Africa 🇲🇦🇩🇿🇹🇳. - Iberomaurusian 👉🏽 The Indigenous Base : The Iberomaurusian ancestry is the deep native Maghrebi layer, dating back ~15,000–20,000 years. It carried a mix of: Local North African ancestry and a levantine-like component too. - Natufian-related ancestry is present through Neolithic movements, providing a Levantine connection. Small contributions also trace back to Punic populations, for 3robis, and for our case this Doukkali, most of it came from Arabian migrations. Zagros / Caucasus : Zagros/CHG ancestry arrived in the Neolithic, via migrations from the Fertile Crescent. Additional inputs occurred during Roman/South Europe migrations and medieval periods, particularly from Arabian migrations. Steppe Ancestry Limited steppe-related input is observed, primarily linked to European migrations, with a minor possibility of Portuguese influence due to historical presence in Doukkala. However, actual admixture with Portuguese populations was likely very limited. So it could have came from other ways. Western Hunter-Gatherer (WHG) : WHG ancestry entered via Neolithic migrations into Europe and subsequent post-Neolithic European movements. - Sub-Saharan African Ancestry Derived largely from trans-Saharan trade networks, introducing African lineages into western Moroccan populations over centuries. 👉🏽 I used the “Wadi Halfa” facial reconstruction as an African proxy because we lack facial reconstructions of neolithic malians. Neolithic components (like Anatolian Neolithic Farmers or Zagros Neolithic Farmers) are not modern populations — they are ancient genetic layers used to model ancestry. Nobody today is “purely” one of these groups. A “pure” Berber (Amazigh) profile is actually a mixture, mainly: Iberomaurusian (indigenous Maghrebi base) Anatolian Neolithic ancestry (from the Neolithic transition) Small amounts of other components (like minor Natufian, Sub-Saharan, or European-related ancestry) In contrast, Moroccan Arabs generally show: The same base (IBM + Anatolian) But with higher Natufian-related ancestry And more Iranian/CHG-related ancestry (linked to Zagros Neolithic Farmers and Caucasus-related input), mostly from medieval Arabian migrations morocco. #morocco #dna #dnatest #moroccan #fyp
