The only time I ever recommend replacing is if there’s a big refrigeration repair is needed and the system is out of warranty.

Well, it’s not the technicians. It’s the industry and constantly the regulations on refrigerants . Even if it’s a 6 years old system out of warranty , good option is replacement .

It’s also a moral thing. I worked for a sales driven company at one point and needless I don’t work there anymore because I didn’t make enough money because I had morals. If it’s 12+ years and working fine and safe to operate I can’t tell you in good conscience it needs to be replaced. Some of my coworkers at the time just see money so I think it has a lot to do with the tech themselves
