@natural_born_parenting: Stability comes before mobility in the body and this is why certain milestones must be reached before others 😊 When baby finally rises you will see that baby will often do multiple squats a day. Up & down. This is innately programmed to build strength & stability 👍🏻 Imagine doing squats at this frequency?!? 🥵 No wonder babies build strength fast! They are relentless 🤩 Before baby will initiate walking - baby has to master standing & side-walking - again to build stability 🏋️♂️ So why is it like this? Well, you can think of a baby’s development like a pyramid. They lay the wide general foundation first and as they learn higher function skills they move up the pyramid - this means everything builds on previous foundational skills 👶 This is why ensuring a solid foundation without compensatory patterns is so important 👌🏻 When you’re baby is in this phase try doing this gentle exercise to allow baby to stand on one leg - this helps baby build balance & stability as well as priming brain for the weightbearing shift that occurs when walking 🚶♀️ Share this with mom or dad - and remember to follow for daily baby insights 🥰
