I would also say bringing food is such a major way to support a new mama! I could barely feed myself and was staving from breastfeeding. Always bring meals!

My mom and sister would come once or twice a week the first few weeks after my first baby was born and take a night shift. They’d bring her to me to nurse and then hangout with her in the living room with her bassinet right next to the couch. If she slept, great, if not, they were on it and I don’t have to stress about sleep. It was the best thing I could have asked for and made me feel so cared for.

This is truly amazing! I had 2 under 2, I would get so many messages saying people wanted to come see baby or me go see them. It was hard. My house was a mess, I felt like I was drowning in motherhood. People would say let me know if you need anything but I wasn’t going to say hey, can you come over and hold the baby so I could do dishes. I learned through my own experience if I’m coming to see a baby, I’m bringing dinner. If there’s dishes in the sink, I’m doing them, I’ll do whatever someone wouldn’t want to ask me to do because I’ve been there.

I used to love going to my bro’s house and cleaning the dishes, doing laundry, cleaning what I could- since baby was still so dependent on mom, I wasn’t needed as a babysitter yet 🥰

Frozen meals! My best friend gave me lasagna frozen in individual slices I could just pop in the oven which was a life saver 4+ months post partum when all the help goes away
