Since yesterday, when my friend Marc shared a video of this horse on the beach, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. I couldn’t sleep. We’re in Bali, a place changing incredibly fast with tourism and development. But witnessing this broke my heart. So this morning, I made a bold move. I drove through the streets of Canggu looking for the place — and luckily, I found it. I filmed what I saw, documented the conditions, and managed to speak with the staff. I was told this horse is kept there for “connection.” But my friend and several local Indonesian people who work around the area told me that the horse is taken onto the beach for rides every evening, and that many locals are also deeply uncomfortable with what they’re witnessing. This isn’t about being a foreigner telling Bali what to do. This is about animal welfare. The condition these horses are in is heartbreaking, and I believe we have a responsibility to speak up when we witness something that doesn’t feel right. I’ve made an offer to the owner, and I hope they will get back to me. Until then, please share this video. Especially if you’re in Bali, make sure people are aware and can make their own informed decisions. We have a voice. We have a platform. And together, we can create meaningful change. #fyp
