The truth is that empathy comes with maturity and it’s not an innate thing. It’s something that takes effort to realize you need to gain. People that trap themselves in the bubble of feeling superior or the victim all the time will never understand this until they understand they need to open their eyes to people outside of themselves. So really it might be easy for some to get this but others won’t know because they never reflect positively

When I was younger, my frontal lobe was damaged at some point, and I truly struggle with emotions. When I do something that is mean or wrong to others, it’s hard for me to even realize it. It’s hard for me to feel empathetic about my actions. This has made my life quite lonely and difficult. The only real relationships I have are with my parents or siblings. I don’t know why someone would choose to be this way.

I rarely feel this thing called emphaty or sympathy. I don't know what is wrong with me. I always think that they won't do the same to me— they won't be there when I need them like I do. If I show kindness, they won't reciprocate my actions. I'm not evil enough to do something bad, but I'm not also kind enough to be there when you need me.
