Honestly, she should just ignore what people say about her. She knows her roots and that should be enough.

the more we dilute what the definition of black is, the harder it is for us to identify and help our community achieve equity

People are stupid, Ethnicity = DNA, Parents. Race= PHENOTYPE. So no she ISNT BLACK which is a race with PHYSICAL characteristics. she maybe creole but as a haitian i fear we have all lost sight of definition and meanings . White people in africa aren’t black because they were born there

As someone who is extremely white-passing, but is Creole, I generally identify myself as simply “mixed” or just plain white, especially since Creole is an ethnicity and not a race. Race is solely determined by phenotype because it’s a social construct made up by European colonists to categorize those who didn’t look like them, so I think it’d be unfair to call myself black without facing the day-to-day struggles that darker skinned people face in society.

One of my biggest life lessons has been to not let others dictate my identity and experience. I used to struggle so badly over black people not seeing me as black. Like, we need to be aware that our experience might differ a bit and when to participate in certain conversation. But beyond that your identity is between you, your genes, and God as far as I’m concerned 🤷🏽‍♀️

as someone mixed (black white and mexican) i know i don't present as a black woman or as a white woman..i am brown, i look hispanic, ill explain that im mixed to people when it comes up, but im not going around delusionally thinking that people see me as mixed, when i walk into a room..theyre prob just going to assume im mexican. just because i am also black and white and i grew up with different cultures in my family doesnt mean that that is how the world perceives me.

I got a cousin like that- she don't look a lick of black and yet she rarely has her Blackness denied and when she does, she doesn't fight with them. She grew up in our whole Black home and neighborhood. She is confident in her culture and identity

Ruth | Gothic Writer 🏰🥀 :
Creole was originally coined as a term specifically for mixed people in Louisiana, usually of the French/Spanish colonizers mixing with the Native American/haitian populations in New Orleans. Today it is still used to denote black or mixed race people of Louisiana/creole ancestry. It has always been distinct from the Cajun population because Cajuns were refugees fleeing British rule in Canada. Also the cooking styles are very different and we still differentiate between them today.

Maybe I've grown up too much under the 1 drop rule but if it's who I'm thinking of I would see her and identify her as black. Although, race is a social construct so of course what is blackness will change as time goes on and as our social definition of race changes.

As a biracial I’m not getting on the internet to prove a damn thing to anyone about my blackness. The fact she keeps coming on here to do that is suspicious cause why do you care what people think if you are black???

her not being white doesn't make her black. it's that simple even w/ the racial history of Louisiana.
