China builds residential highrises around shared resources, so tons of everyday people have easy access to nice things they need. Does your community have anything like this? Why do you think the United States can't build their cities like this? Is the Communist Party just giving people free resources to appease them? This kind of center has existed for a long time. Back in the 80s, when China was really poor, it was just a small office in a residential building. If there was a library, it would usually be just a small bookshelf in the office with a few books. My granny managed the local community center; she was also the neighborhood gossip hub, mediating small disputes among neighbors, and in charge of the only phone serving the entire community.

From a Marxist perspective, calling China a primary stage of socialism totally distorts Karl Marx’s concept. since wage labour, profit and market competition show that capitalist relations still dominate.
