I'm happily married for almost 9 years but I'll be damned if I'm left with nothing if sh*t hits the fan so I manage all of our finances and I pay myself a "wage" for being a Stay-at-home Mum. No one intends to get divorced but you gotta plan for it and just hope you never have to put it into action. You gotta be smart, regardless of whether your relationship is *currently* happy.

I love the relationship! My dad was a cook so we didn’t talk about finances. I lost him when I was 25. I miss him terribly. It will be 20 years in May. He was the best listener. I would tell him about friend drama but I didn’t have a lot of time with him. When he was in hospice at the hospital I used to go after work to spend time with him and I would fall asleep on the chair watching jag. He is still the only one in my life that has ever loved me unconditionally and I miss that. Cherish every moment.
