@theobservercave: Standing in 4 Kilo today, it hit me that it’s been four years since I left university. It’s strange how fast time passes. The 4 Kilo I knew feels like a memory that’s destroyed under a the bridge that isn’t even there anymore. ወይ ታሪክ🤦🏽‍♂️ I found myself looking for that old newspaper spot, the one where crowds would huddle under the bridge to check the notice board for job posts. I never actually stood in that line myself, but there was something about that spot, it felt like a portal to every possible future. Now, the bridge is gone, the board is gone, and the city has moved on. While I was lost in that nostalgia, the rain started coming down. I saw four kids playing football under the cover of a building, completely unfazed. My inner child didn't even stop to think, it just told me to join them. For five minutes, I wasn't a an old man😂 I was just part of the game. (I actually lost a game of juggling as well🤷🏽‍♂️) But the world has changed in more ways than just the architecture. We didn’t even get five minutes before security kicked them out. It’s quiet heartbreak to see how rare it is for kids to just play nowadays, especially when most are behind screens. Seeing that raw, old school joy get cut short felt like a reminder of how much "order" we've traded for our freedom. We’re all just trying to find a place to play in a world that’s grown up a little too fast.⚽️
