Then, using a crane, a heavy metal lid is lowered on top to close the mold tightly. The whole mold is moved into a heating area, where gas flames warm it up while the mold slowly twists and turns in different directions. As the granulate melts, the liquid plastic spreads out and sticks to the inner walls of the mold, building an even, thick layer all around. After heating, the mold is cooled down while still rotating so the shape stays perfect.
