I used paddock for small area, field for big. A blanket had no fastenings , rug had fastenings. Jodhpurs were to the ankle and had turnips, breeches were to calf. Pronounced britches.

American I say Ariat like airy-yatch if that makes sense. Field is a large grass turnout paddock is a small dry lot. Blanket always! I never hear people say rug in the us

breeches are designed to fit under long boots. theyre cropped, are less stretchy and used to have velcro at the bottom (lycra usually now) jhods are long enough to go over the top of jhodpur boots and stretchier

I'm from Yorkshire but live in Gloucestershire. Ariat I say like you, chaff like the "northern" way. Rug, field, arena, I'd say breeches like you. Breeches are designed to be used with long boots/chaps whereas jodhpurs are designed to be used with paddock boots. Pony nuts, jacket, I use both helmet and hat

Ariat not airiat. Chaff, not charf, arena or school, ménage is French and not British language, jods regardless of breeches or tights 🤣. Hat not helmet, rug not blanket. Also annoys me when people call all pads saddlepads- if they’re shaped to the saddle- it’s a numnah, square shaped- it’s a saddlecloth and padded is a work or saddlepad. I say field, not paddock. I’m based Staffordshire.
