I got pulled over by PC Scothern about 21 years ago on the M1, for no insurance, I'd arranged it a week before but a problem with the insurance companies system failed to process it. i didn't know this had happened and I showed him proof of where I'd paid for it and the email saying thank you for purchasing your insurance. Another cop could of had my vehicle impounded but he said as it wasn't my fault he'd give me a police escort me off the motorway and then I could "arrange my own recovery" to get my car home. Top bloke.
