Swimming in the River of Life: BTS’ “Swim” and Antonovsky’s Salutogenesis
In a world that often feels like a turbulent river, BTS, with their title track “Swim,” deliver a powerful message. “Swim, swim, I could spend a lifetime watching you,” they sing, and these words remind us of the river of life, as described by Aaron Antonovsky in his Salutogenesis model. Salutogenesis, Antonovsky’s model, shows that despite stress, despite chaos, we can remain healthy if we surrender to life’s current. And this is exactly what “Swim” conveys: even when the world pulls us into the depths, we must keep going, keep swimming. BTS remind us that resilience means, despite the currents, never giving up. Their music is an anchor, showing us that—like in water we can always resurface and keep moving forward.
