@tripimprover: The Problem We All Live With from 1964 is one of the early works by Norman Rockwell addressing social inequality and racism. It's specifically about the right of students of all colors to attend any school they wanted. Rockwell painted this undisturbed girl, escorted by U.S. marshals on her way to a white school. Notice the evidence on the wall, the racial slur and the tomato thrown at her moments before. Rockwell created this at the height of the Civil Rights Movement and it was published in Look Magazine of January 14, 1964, just after he had left the Saturday Evening Post, which did not allow him to cover these societal issues.
