YESSS! This is a huge problem with film, tv, and written art right now. Many people confuse the artist’s desire to create or show a “problematic” character, event, or action and assume the artist is endorsing it. A lot of the nuance of what is trying to be said gets lost and it’s frustrating to see

This is a huge problem in the critique of film and games and comics, those more mainstream pop culture art forms. A misunderstanding in the difference between depiction and endorsement leads to well-meaning people supporting things like censorship. This thing absolutely should be taught.
