I love my baby. And I wouldn’t trade being his mum for anything. But sometimes I miss things. I miss being able to leave the house without packing half of it first. I miss making plans without checking naps and feeds. I miss conversations that don’t get interrupted. I miss having an evening that didn’t revolve around bedtime. And sometimes I even miss the version of myself who existed before motherhood. I don’t think admitting that makes me ungrateful. I think it makes me human. Because motherhood can be the greatest love you’ve ever known and still come with moments where you feel a little lost. And when those moments come, sometimes I don’t need someone to tell me to enjoy every second. I just need someone to say: “I get it.” Maybe that’s why seeing all those little lights feels so comforting. Different mums. Different babies. Different lives.
