(To estimate yours, you can use the Harris-Benedict equation, which provides a rough estimate of daily calorie. You can just google the calculator) For men, the average BMR typically ranges between 1,800 and 2,400 calories per day. This range is based on an average weight, height, and age for men. For women, the average BMR typically ranges between 1,400 and 2,000 calories per day. Again, this range is based on average values for weight, height, and age for women. Another factor to keep in mind when losing weight is the thermogenic effect of food. This accounts for about 10% of the total caloric intake for most individuals.
