7/11 ATMs (also their ATMs at the airport) have no ATM fees for foreign Master Cards. For VISA and MasterCard you can use AEON ATMs (like at MyBasket) for no ATM fees. Always choose to decline Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC), as in, let the ATM charge your card in JPY rather than your card currency.

I noticed that the jaywalking thing is really only on big roads/streets/stroads with traffic lights and crosswalks, but if there’s no crosswalk and it’s a small one lane street then people will just walk anywhere and everywhere, even locals

Before you get cash at 7-11 atms!!! Yes it has best conversion rate but It’s forces you to take out 10,000 yen minimum of your debit. Unless you’re okay with that. Go to the mall instead they have different kinds that you can take 1000 yen out.
