Making DONUTS using a KID’S TOY?! ✨Recipe: Ingredients: • ⅔ cups milk • 2 ¼ teaspoons (1 package) Active Dry Yeast • 1 Egg • 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) melted butter • ¼ cup Granulated Sugar • ½ teaspoon Salt • 2 ¼ cups Flour • Fondant • Buttercream Frosting Directions: 1. Heat the milk until warm (~100-110°F). Stir in yeast. Let mixture sit for 5 minutes or until foamy. 2. In stand mixer bowl, beat together eggs, butter, sugar, salt and yeast mixture. Once consistent, change to a dough hook and add 1 cup of the flour, mixing until combined. Slowly add the rest of the flour until dough pulls away from sides of bowl, adding more flour if necessary. 3. Remove dough from mixing bowl and place on floured surface. Gently knead dough until smooth, then place dough in an oiled bowl and cover. Let rise at room temperature until doubles in size (~1 - 1 ½ hours) 4. Return dough to your floured surface, and roll the dough out with a rolling pin to about ½ – 1 inch thick. Feed chunks through your kid’s toy shaping the dough. Place dough on a floured baking sheet and cover. 5. Heat oven to 200°F, turn off the heat, and place baking sheet in oven with the door open. Let dough and holes rise again for about 45 minutes. 6. In a heavy bottomed skillet, slowly heat oil up to 325°F. Separately line a new baking sheet or plate with paper towels. 7. Add the donut to the oil using a spatula or carefully with your hands. Fry for about 1-2 minutes, or until bottom is a deep golden brown. 8. Flip donut over using a metal spatula and fry again for another couple minutes or so. Remove donut and place on paper towel lined sheet or plate. Repeat with donut holes. 9. Roll out some fondant and use the icing stamp to cut out the icing shape, then place on top of the donut. 10. Press some buttercream through the toy’s dispenser, then top the donuts off with some sprinkles, and enjoy these totally edible mini treats! - @littleremyfood
