The name brand Wellbutrin XL has a patent on its slow release coating it is only used on the name brand. The off brand cannot use it. The off brands “slow release” coating dissolves much faster causing so many problems for people. Including myself. My new insurance this year will not cover the name brand because it costs over $8,000 for a 3 month supply. I am on my 3rd appeal for it. But for now I have just put in an order at an online Canadian pharmacy. No insurance for the medication through them costed me $196. The tarrif was more expensive than the tracked shipping I paid extra for. I don’t even care. Name brand vs. off brand was life changing!!!
