It's almost like language is a rigid book of unchanging laws, not a living organism that changes all the time

Interesting fact: many Brazilians, unaware that POV was an acronym, simply assumed it was an abbreviation for "povo" (people), which further misinterprets its meaning here, since This completely changes the original meaning of POV.

As someone who frequently has to write photo descriptions for industrial training photography and search stock image sites, this drives me crazy, because I need to be really clear or I may end up wasting hundreds to even thousands of dollars if they capture the wrong thing in an expensive photoshoot, but I also have to keep the descriptions concise. But POV isn’t half as bad as what people did to “candid,” which used to signify the photo subject was not visibly posing or looking at the camera, but somehow now means smiling and looking directly at you. There is no other common word that means that and it was essentially destroyed.

i find it funny when people feel strongly on how language should be used. If people didn’t experiment and ascribe different meanings to language, there wouldn’t be language haha.

Very interesting the idea of it being a discourse marker (and I agree with it)

you should probably explain what Second Person Point of View is, as they stopped teaching the difference between 3 perspective after 1999. now Second Person has been combined with First Person Point of View.
