@ukraine.ua: 🌲🌳 From the firs of the Carpathians to the pines of Polissia and the oak groves of the Eastern regions, forests cover almost 16% of Ukraine's area. Precious natural riches, in peacetime, they provide biodiversity, as well as build economic and climate stability. However, Russia's war of aggression has ruined this balance. According to the World Wide Fund for Nature, the area of forest fires alone has increased 90 times compared to 2021. In general, about 30% of Ukrainian forests have suffered from enemy hostilities, shelling, and occupation. The real scale of losses is difficult to measure because of Russia's ongoing aggression. Just imagine – according to preliminary estimates, the level of damage reaches 2.47 billion hryvnias. ❗️ Ukrainian forests need protection. Yet, to save them, Russia's aggression against Ukraine must be immediately stopped. #ukraine #forest #nature
