I just moved to Perth, Western Australia and I asked my mother in law “so do yall have prison rodeos in the fall?” And she was like “we have rodeos, not sure about the prison part” then had to explain the Angola Prison Rodeo is a normal experience for us and everyone was like fucking hell that’s actually insane. Took me coming 10,000+ miles to realize this isn’t a normal thing at all and the prisons here actually rehabilitate you. It’s not a privatized closed system.
