April 17, 2026 Day 2 of the Ha Giang Loop Completed ✅ 70.8km in 5hrs & 30 minutes! The views just keep getting more breathtaking the deeper you go. Today we got to see the Hmong people indigenous to the region. They don’t speak Vietnamese; they have their own dialect. Watching them was something else. The women especially… unbelievably strong. Farming on the sides of steep mountains like it’s nothing. Their balance, their fearlessness, their resilience it’s on another level. They’ve also mastered these beautiful, multicolored fabrics, all handmade. So much detail, so much pride in their work. The ride itself? Wild. We started the day in full summer mode, and within 30 minutes of climbing the mountains, the temperature dropped fast. Jackets came out. Shawn threw on a sweater and rain pants. You could feel the storm coming. So I prayed. Asked the Lord Jesus Christ to protect us, to keep us covered from the rain. And right on time we pulled into a small silver shop. As soon as we got inside… the sky opened up. Pouring rain. But we were completely sheltered. Our bikes...dry. Us...bone dry. Meanwhile, we watched tour after tour ride by getting absolutely drenched. No gear, no cover, just getting hammered by the storm. That moment? Yeah… that was God. I saw it coming, I prayed, and He was faithful. Covered us completely! Traveling like this with the Lord feels different. He’s right there with me. I’ve been listening to the Book of Romans while riding, just taking in His word while surrounded by His creation… it’s something I can’t even fully explain. We ended the day in Dong Van. The town was lively lots of people out, “happy water” flowing but we skipped the chaos and found a beautiful restaurant with authentic Hmong dancing. Way more our vibe. Takeaway for anyone doing the loop: Be prepared. Don’t rely on Easy Riders for gear. Their rain stuff is flimsy. Bring your own quality gear from home it makes a difference. That’s Day 2. And wow… what a day! #authentichagiang #hagiangloop #motorcycletouring #Vietnam #travelvlog
