![Who still remembers how to give without asking for anything in return? A poppy, crimson as old love letters, tucked behind an ear before heading to the fields. Cornflowers, sky-blue and fragile, woven into a wreath by hands that had known both harvest and hunger. Meadows were living altars, offering gifts of scent and color—thyme and chamomile crushed beneath bare feet, the sharp sweetness of wild roses trailing along wooden fences. The elderly pressed lilac sprigs into trembling palms, a final benediction. A mother, wordless, left violets at the foot of a wooden cross. And now, in a world of hurried exchanges and forgotten customs, who kneels in the tall grass, who dares to gather something fleeting but eternal? To give a poppy is to give fire.
