Many people confused what Archons are. Archon, is a title, given to the 7 beings (Barbatos/Venti the Wind Spirit, Morax/Zhongli An Exuvia, Beelzebul/Makoto-Ei the twin Spiritual entities, Rukkhadevata the Avatar of Irminsul, Egeria the Supreme Oceanid, the human Xbalanque/Haborym, and Belyi Tsar the king of Faefolks) who won the "Archon War" ages ago. The 7 winners then lead their respective region, and Celestia/Heavenly Principles gave those 7 beings a piece of Gnosis each. The Archons will always be Archons with or without gnosis. They became Archon first, then they were given gnosis, not they got Gnosis first then they became Archons. Gnosis is a symbol of acknowledgement from Celestia/Heavenly Principles of their title as the Archons.

pretty sure Nahida says that giving the gnosis up will eventually wake the heavenly principles. I think Venti, Zhongli, and Raiden Ei knew that and willing gave their’s up, Nahida was willing to gamble the odds, and Neuvillette may have known but he was willing to give it away for Fontaine.

Gnosis is literally a thing given to them ONLY AFTER they've already won the archon war, not before. So stop acting like they needed the Gnosis to be powerful and read the lore 😭 (in siding with the creator)

imho, the gnosis are Celestia's leash on the Archons, under the guise of "power and authority". the fact that the divinities have no use for them, and just treats it as a trinket, tells that it's just like a medal to them; except the Pyro Archons, of course, as they are all humans.

Mavuika doesn't need Gnosis! Gnosis contains the memories of all the Natlan heroes and archons, which is why Mavuika didn't want to use the captainos idea.
