Respect for your story and your talent. I’m also an artist in South Africa. I’m doing oil on board in the super realism style. What makes me very sad is when super rich people try to budge on my price. One of my paintings takes a full month from dusk till dawn to complete. People love your work, they want it, but do not respect nor recognise the time, effort or soul you’ve poured into your work. I sometimes wonder when they go to a salon for their hair, nails, skin, eyebrows, etc etc etc, do they tell the manager also what they want to pay? Stick with your price no matter how desperately you need the money.
