geography has nothing to do with it. its because our cost of living is sky high, our businesses are closing at an alarming rate and our quality of education and Healthcare has dropped massively. Pay is unlivable

I honestly don’t care about chasing more money overseas — I love living here. New Zealand is home, and that means more to me than a bigger pay cheque ever could. I’m not money motivated, I’m motivated by being happy and feeling settled in my life. There are plenty of us who feel the same way — valuing lifestyle, family, and a sense of home over earning more somewhere else. For me, it’s about enjoying the life I have, not chasing one somewhere else. ❤️

the problem is not new, it's been standing here for a long time. the cost of living is BS. we create 10 times more food than we consume but most of us can barely afford our weekly grocery shop because we supplement the cost of the exported food so that it can be sold cheaper over seas. we get the scraps of what we produce but for a premium price. this doesn't even touch on the housing or other systemic issues.

love my country miss the lakes forests scenery but moved my family to Oz 3 years ago...nz will always be our home but money wise...Oz does it for us....

It’s because of peak capitalism. Countries should be able to support themselves and live comfortably, especially with the fertile conditions that NZ does, however the world is obsessed with profit growth and mass consumerism. NZ would be fine if it looked inward and shunned greed
