A stray cat was found trapped deep inside a narrow chimney shaft - over 30 feet down, with steel bars blocking the way. Every attempt to pull it up risked suffocating the cat. With no direct access, we had to go door-to-door, asking residents for help. Thanks to kind neighbors, we were able to attempt a rescue through kitchen vents. But just as we almost succeeded… the rope got stuck and tightened around the cat's neck. We had no choice but to stop. The next day, we came back with better tools, more planning, and help from multiple residents. After hours of searching, cutting obstacles, and carefully coordinating, we finally rescued the cat safely. This story shows how animal rescues often rely on teamwork, patience, and compassion - just like similar rescues that happen in cities across the U.S., from Los Angeles apartments to New York buildings.
