The Ultimates universe always felt so much more… engaged in its own stories. It felt like this was the universe where the writers could expand in ways that they couldn’t in the main stories and I always loved that. I dunno if anyone else thinks this😭

I actually really like the ultimates 1 and 2. Definitely a product of its time and should never be repeated but I think it was an interesting take on avengers that we’ll probably never see today and the art was super cool. They took hulk a little too far I think though

I would say the majority of the Ultimate universe is actually pretty good. People just get hung up on Mark Millar’s and Joph Loeb’s stuff and assume that’s the whole universe. To do that would be to discount Brian Michael Bendis, Warren Ellis, Robert Kirkman, Brian K. Vaughn, Mike Carey, Jason Aaron, Nick Spencer, Jonathan Hickman and all the great work they’ve done for the world :/
