actual rule from my first call center job "You get 5 minutes a day to use the bathroom in the "personal" category on your softphone, anything over 5 minutes will have to be worked back at end of shift or taken out your breaks"

"I know you've just done a 12 hour day shift, and youre back in the morning, but can you also do the night shift, a member of staff hasn't turned up" to be fair, I did agree if they paid me double for all three shifts and let me sleep on the night shift, which they did 🤷🏻♀️my other personal favourite "I know you've had this holiday booked since you joined the company, but if you go away this weekend, you will not have a job when you come back" I still went on the holiday 🤷🏻♀️I'm not missing New York to work at KFC 😂

Start walking to the break room, get asked for help by a customer on the way, spend 15 minutes helping them then go for my break. I then get roasted for not being back in time because of the new made up policy that my break starts as soon as I leave my department 😂

I was once told to choose between my work and my family over a 4 hour a week minimum wage job that slotted me in for overtime on my birthday with no notice. The managers were shocked when I laughed thinking it was a joke. They were downright horrified when I said "family, obviously" and they were truly stunned when I quit a few weeks later when they wouldn't give me ANY overtime going forward.

I once worked a remote job and if you spend more than a minute in the toilet, the timer stops and you won't be able to clock out if you don't work 8 hrs a day. It was supposed to be 7-4 plus an hr break and I was still on my PC till 6 pm without reaching 8 hrs yet. Damn I resigned the next day😂😂😂
