The Honeycrisp was developed by the University of Minnesota. They have saved hundreds of varieties of apples from heritage trees. It’s not a GMO, thanks.

apple science goes real hard in the US, there's even a whole special degree you can get specializing in mixing/creating apple variants. if you go to Ologies podcast there is an Apple episode called pomology!!

we LOVE apples here in the States. there’s no extra sugar or anything we just love splicing tree types together and seeing what fruit it bears. you keep splicing tree types together and boom you got Comsic Crisp, Honey Crisp, and Pink Lady.

Dude wait til you go strawberry picking and see how many breeds of that we have. There’s a local picking farm that has a variant of strawberry that is so juicy and both sweet and tart and it’s SO GOOD but they don’t exist in grocery stores at all
