Maturity is realizing they didn’t heal but they found someone on the level they can be with. Whatever that means for them and matches their capacity. It’s hard to get to this mindset but it’s better for you and them they did what they did. Rejection is truly protection and you would have been living a life less than you want if it worked.

Mine did the same thing. After almost 9 years together, living together for about 6 years & engaged, he ended things in July 2025 & said he just isn’t a relationship guy & he’s not built to live with anyone. Found out in he jumped into a relationship & is apparently “in love” already. First of all, this is a classic move for an avoidant so they don’t face the feelings that come with a breakup. Usually, these relationships fizzle out b/c the person never healed so the same patterns & fears will show up no matter who they’re dating. Even knowing this, I am devastated & still cry every day. Hang in there ❤️
