@jessicawetz6: **IUD pain reducers like penthrox, numbing injections, laughing gas, IV sedation, GA, ultrasound guidance…? Doctors like @Abortion MD 🇨🇦🧡 have to use their own paycheque to buy the meds and $30,000 ultrasound machine patients deserve to reduce pain and risks. It’s deemed “unnecessary” by the government/insurance/hospital/clinic paying the doctor. This encourages doctors to inflict harm on patients because they get paid more when they do. Doctors need new billing codes for all evidence based medical treatments and diagnosis, NOT JUST ones for white men. Male “discomfort” with their butthole having a camera put in that’s 1/5 the size of a turd? Free $2000 twilight IV anesthetic surgery for all colonoscopies!!! Female “discomfort” with their cervix being punctured by IUD triple the size? Automatic free $1 roll of paper towel to clean all my own blood covering my legs and the floor. Then $4000 5 year PTSD therapy for a gunshot to the uterus causing mental illness. I wish I knew to ask for a provider that will prescribe $100 penthrox and $20 lidocaine. Would have saved me and the government years of money and resources. If you’re traumatized by medical care we need to fight the system paying them so they learn the consequences of not changing the system and rules. There’s a summit in Toronto in a week that @Danyaal Raza | MD 🇨🇦 posted about!! #IUD #canadianhealthcare

I truly believe it’s so person dependent. I hardly felt my IUD insertion

I’m in Canada, I’ve had my IUD inserted in hospital under anesthesia three times. So it’s not the system, it’s the doctor.

The codes are the bane of my existence. NPs don’t bill MSI yet but we still need to put in the codes for admin. There are so many super specific codes for some things and I literally can not find anything that fits for others.

ummmmm ya, I learned billing codes are only updated every 3 years and it needs to be petitioned. I have pulsatile tinnitus. But that doesn't "exsist" in Canada. I currently need to go to the US to confirm I need surgery🤦🏾♀️

I had this done in Vancouver at Willow Clinic in January. Panthrox, numbing and ultrasound placement. The only thing I had to pay for out of pocket was $80 for the Panthrox. It was seriously a great experience, I’ll never go anywhere else.

I did it alone w/ two doctors, passed out immediately after, left within 20 minutes, then violently threw up water all over a McDonald's parking lot, then fell asleep for an hour to get home. It was gnarly.

I will never understand why we don’t have penthrox in the US . Like it’s not even allowed if you pay for it.

But how can you go about feeling better if you don’t know what the problems is and what will help you? The health care system is so messed up! Finally Got my dx at 40 yo!
